Progress made on Flag Farm Road upgrade and N2 interchange

The Flag Farm Road (P228) in Salt Rock is undergoing a much-needed upgrade, thanks to the efforts of property developer Collins Residential. The 2km stretch of road is being turned into a traditional roadway, and the upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

In addition to upgrading the P228, Collins Residential has also agreed to construct an interchange on the N2 between Salt Rock and Tinley Manor. The interchange is expected to start once the necessary approvals have been obtained from the transport department and South African National Roads Agency.

The Collins Group’s development mandate includes the responsibility to support this upgrade, which will benefit the community at large. The P228 is a significant arterial route that services several estates in the area, including Seaton and Lalela estates. Once the upgrades are complete, the road will provide a much smoother and safer driving experience for residents and visitors.

The projects will jointly cost more than R116.6-million, but the benefits to the community will be significant. The upgraded infrastructure will have a positive impact on the local economy, making it easier for businesses to transport goods and services. It will also create job opportunities during the construction phase and potentially in the future.

Overall, the progress being made on the Flag Farm Road upgrade is good news for the community, and it is hoped that the N2 interchange upgrades will follow suit. With a commitment to improving the local infrastructure, Collins Residential is playing an important role in the growth and development of the Salt Rock and Sheffield areas.
